Associate Professor

Werner Klingler is a fascia researcher and an Associate Professor of Conservative and Rehabilitative Orthopaedics at the Technical University of Munich. He is an active clinician, heads the neurophysiological muscle laboratory, and is a co-founder of the Fascia Research Group in Ulm.

His research focuses on the fascial system, which builds a three-dimensional continuum of soft, collagen-containing, loose and dense fibrous connective tissue that permeates the body and influences musculoskeletal dynamics.

Klingler has authored several research papers on the subject of fascia and has also given presentations on the subject of fascia research. He has, among other things, investigated the presence of myofibroblasts in fascial tissues and their potential role in cellular contraction, which could play an active role in musculoskeletal mechanics.

Klingler is a member of the 2022 Scientific Committee of the Fascia Research Society.

Overall, Klingler is a respected authority in the field of fascia research and has contributed significantly to our understanding of the fascial system and its role in musculoskeletal dynamics as well as the potential implications for sports injuries and rehabilitation research.
