Stephen Levin is a medical doctor who originated the concept of biotensegrity more than 30 years ago. He is an orthopedic surgeon who has been in practice for 50 years.
Stephen Levin has developed a concept based on Kenneth Snelson and tensegrity architecture. His observation that tensegrity architecture provides an essential model for biologic structure resulted in the concept of biotensegrity.
Levin is the Director of the Fascia Research Group at the University of Ulm and the global authority on biotensegrity. He has created a variety of presentations and research papers on the subject of biotensegrity and has authored several books on fascia.
The Stephen M Levin Biotensegrity Archive is dedicated to presenting, advancing, and extending Dr. Stephen M. Levin's model for biological structure, biotensegrity. The archive provides biotensegrity-related educational content that is freely accessible to the emerging community of researchers, clinicians, inventors, academics, systems scientists, and other professionals who study biotensegrity.
