Orthopedic surgeon and Professor of Human Anatomy and Movement Sciences at the University of Padua, Italy.
Founder member of the Fascial Manipulation Association and of the Fascia Research Society.
Carla Stecco is a pioneer in fascia research and has conducted extensive research on fascia and myofascial pain. She is an author of more than 250 research works studying the anatomy of the human fasciae from a macroscopical, histological, and pathophysiological point of view. She has also authored several books about the fascial system. One of her most notable works is the "Functional Atlas of the Human Fascial System," which presents a new vision of the human fascial system using anatomical and histological photographs along with microscopic analysis and biomechanical evaluation.
Together with her father, Luigi Stecco, she has developed the Fascial Manipulation technique, which is a manual therapy aimed at treating global fascial dysfunction by restoring normal movement.
Carla Stecco has presented slides of extensive anatomical dissections of unembalmed bodies and has authored more than 30 indexed papers about fascial anatomy. She has focused her expertise on describing the nature of human fascia and the cellular organization of the microscopic environment of fascia.
She actively conducts workshops, lectures, and seminars worldwide, sharing her expertise and insights with healthcare practitioners, researchers, and students, and she is considered an expert in the field.
